Belgore Commissions Landmark Projects  in Interior Ministry

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Interior, Dr. Shuaib Belgore on Wednesday (31st May 2023) Commissioned three newly completed projects in the Ministry.

The projects comprised: a Creche, Data Center and Electronic Document Management System.                

While commissioning the Ultra-Modern Creche, Belgore disclosed that it was conceived  to provide a conducive working environment to nursing mothers in the Ministry, as it will spare such mothers unnecessary anxiety associated with nursing their babies as well as giving them confidence aimed at improving their efficiency and productivity.

While also commissioning the Data Center, the Permanent Secretary explained that the initiative for the project was born out of urgent need to store and protect vital information in modern form to enhance process of data sharing among security agencies.

He explained that  that Data Center is key to storage, safety and retrieval of information which will also serve as backup to intelligence gathering. The facility will also guard against loss of information In case of fire disaster or other form of unforeseen mishaps in offices thereby safeguarding security of documents.

On the Electronic Document Management System, Belgore disclosed that the actualisation of the EDMS dream is inline with  the introduction of Personnel Management System which is aimed at improving staff efficiency and service delivery in the Ministry.

The Permanent Secretary said that the system is bound to improve work flow within the system from one schedule officer to the next thereby  reducing paperwork and wastage of stationeries.

He opined that the system will promote hard work, increase workers productivity and further meets staff training needs and turn them to  thoroughbred professionals.

In attendance at the events were directors in the Ministry, aids of the Permanent Secretary and senior staff.
