Air Nigeria Conundrum: Cttee Chairman Asked for 5% Settlement for Self/Members

  • It’s ridiculous that I ‘ll hire, paint an aircraft for N138bn, Says Sirika

By Mohammed Mohammed

The former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika, on Sunday averred that from 2016 to 2023, the budget for Nigeria Air in budget is N5 billion, and only N3 billion was released, and up until today, June, 11th.

According to him, while appearing at AriseTV Network, the money that was released to him has not been completely spent.

In a statement, he signed and made available to the media, he said: “The government of Nigeria did not pay a dime for Nigeria Air to come for that unveiling on Friday, 26 May, 2023.

“It is ridiculous to think that we’ll hire and paint an aircraft for N138 billion, which could get us 5 new Boeing 777max.

“We are responsible people and the general public should approach Min. of Information and apply for the right of information to see for themselves.”

House committee chairman on aviation asked for 5% of Nigeria Air for himself and his people. I ask him to approach the owners of the airline.

That is the same flyairpeace people want Hadi sirika to hand over Air Nigeria to.

OBJ handed Nigeria Airways to his friend company, Arik Air, and Arik is indebted to the tune of over N300bn, of which Nigeria taxpayers’ money is N250 billion via AMCON.

So, do we hand it over to Arik? Signed: Sen. Hadi Sirika, former Aviation Minister,Today at Arise TV.
