Lawani, Gbabo makes ministerial nominee from Benue

As lobbying for Ministerial position intensified there are strong indications that Honourable Daniel Gbabo has been pencilled down for a cabinet slot in Tinubu’s Government.

Inside sources have revealed that President Bola Tinubu told Governors of the All Progressives Congress to submit three names, one from each of the three Senatorial Districts of their States for ministerial slots.

They maintained that the impact of good governance can only be directly felt by people at the grassroots if persons they know are given leadership positions.

The sources further revealed that the Governor of Benue State Hyacinth Alia told the Secretary of the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume that he should bring the names but the SGF insisted that the decision was for Governors to submit it.

The sources added that Governor Alia then pencilled down the names of Chief Stephen Lawani for Zone C, Mr Dan Ashiekaa for Zone A, and Chief Akange Audu and Hon. Daniel Gbabo for Zone B for consideration to the SGF to choose one among them.

One of the sources said: “The need to make the right choice by appointing competent youth that would man some of the ministries for effective service delivery can never be over-emphasized in this critical moment of our nation and that was the reason Gbabo’s name came on board.

It was said that due to President Tinubu’s promise during his campaign and well written in his manifesto that he will appoint youths in his cabinet that Fr. Alia made the consideration for Sen. Akume to look at it.
