Nasarawa Traders Association elects new officials

The Nasarawa State Traders and Marketers Association (NSTMA) have elected new officials to pilot the affairs of the association in the next four years.

Announcing the results of the election on Saturday in Lafia, Ishiaka Baba, Chairman electoral committee, declared Musa Aliyu-Turaki as elected President unopposed.

He also named  positions of Vice President 1, Vice President 11, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer (PRO) 1, PRO 11, Auditor 1, Auditor 11, Organizing Secretary, Assistant Organizing Secretary, as equally elected unopposed while the position of Financial Secretary was contested. 

In his acceptance speech, the new President who spoke on behalf of the officials expressed gratitude to their members for the opportunity to serve them in the various capacities.

The President also assured traders in the State that the association would lobby government towards creating enabling environment for smooth business in the State.

He said that the association would ensure that the State government constructs modern markets in all the 13 Local Governments Areas.

He promised to give priority to the welfare of members of the association in the next four years.
