The Reverend in charge of Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), Grace Land, Lafia, Moses Kudu, has admonished Christians to build stronger relationship with God in order to be recognised in eternity.
He spoke on Sunday in his message during the service which coincided with the Choir Week of the annual General Church Council.
The programme featured prayers for the restoration of peace especially the ongoing leadership tussle at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
According to the Cleric, “let me admonish you not to occupy your life with activities at the expense of building a rich relationship with God.
“It is only men who while on earth developed a rich relationship with God that will be recognised and received by God in heaven.
“The scripture says that a man is foolish when he is rich in the things of this world and not rich towards God.
“Permit me to state here that it is the kind of life you lived while on earth that will define your place in eternity.
“Do not be deceived, your place in eternity shall never be by works.
“Jesus will not evaluate any man based on works, it is always and will always be based on the kind of they lived.”
In his sermon, Reverend Freeman Bazinna spoke on the topic ‘Living above the storm of this World’ as contained in the Holy Bible according to gospel of Luke chapter eight verses 22 through 25.
Reverend Bazinna highlighted some of the storms of present generation to among others economy meltdown, political gamic facing the world aimed to bring perennial sorrows while assuring Christians that the storms shall be over if they shun sinful tendencies.
He urged them to understand that the challenges of life does not last forever for the Lord said the battle belong to him.
