The Nasarawa State Police Command has alerted members of the public on techniques criminals use to dispossess unsuspecting owners of their vehicles.

A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Rahman Nansel, said the criminals usually disguise as passengers to stop vehicles plying Lafia-Abuja/Akwanga –Keffi routes and thereafter, dispossess them of the vehicles.

According to the statement, “in view of the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, urges road users to desist from picking passengers from the roadside while the public is advised to board commercial vehicles at the approved motor parks.

“The Commissioner of Police further admonished members of the public to be security conscious and not to succumb to the antics of the criminals as the Police Command has put measures in place to nip the crime in the bud.

“In case of any distress, members of the public can call the following numbers: 09115629178, 09067877096, 08112692680, and 08104441179,” the statement.
