Look Into Our Plight Once More: Open Letter To Governor Sule
Dear Mr. Governor,
On behalf of the Indigenous undergraduate Students of Nasarawa State currently studying at various universities across the six geopolitical zones in the country, I extend my compliments in the best tradition.
Your Excellency, as exhibited by other states in the country, the undergraduate students from Nasarawa State are keenly anticipating scholarships from the State government, your Excellency.
As loyal indigenes of the State, we have watched over the years and appreciate your developmental strides in the State, particularly in the area of education. We feel relieved by your disposition in addressing the long-suffering encountered by undergraduate students given the harsh economic condition of the time, increase in registration fees in tertiary institutions/universities and your quest to address the issue of recent.
The undergraduate students for the 2022/2023 academic session, undergraduate students write to specifically make a passionate appeal to you once more to look at the plight of students currently undergoing their studies in various universities and tertiary institutions in Nigeria where many are battling to cope with the ever increasing demands of the institutions and some basic needs with a request for payment of our bursary allowance to cushion the effect of subsidy removal since the month of may 2023 which has led to increase in prices of goods, services, transportation, among others.
We are expected to be Ambassadors of the State in our various campuses of Nigerian Universities, this indeed places a huge responsibility on us.
Finally, we the undergraduate students are optimistic that the State government will set the pace in respect of undergraduate scholarship and other matters relating to welfare for other States of the federation to follow. In the long run, it will boost the morale of indigenes in various universities to excel with distinctions in their respective fields of study.
