Police confirm abduction of Katsina female varsity students

Terrorists have kidnapped no fewer than five female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, in the early hours of today Wednesday.

A source who confirmed the incident in a telephone interview, said the students were kidnapped by the hoodlums at about 2:30 am Wednesday.

The source explained that the victims were kidnapped in their residence located behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial International School along Tsaskiya road, Dutsinma Local Government Area of the State. 

“Bandits attacked a residence of students behind Mariamoh Ajiri school in the early hours of today (Wednesday) and kidnapped five female students of Federal University Dutsin-Ma”, he said.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu while confirming the abduction of the students, “on October 4, 2023, at about 2 a.m., suspected terrorists kidnapped five female students of the federal university Dutsinma. The command is on top of the situation, as it has deployed all its tactical and operational assets with a view to rescuing the victims unhurt and arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act. One suspect has been arrested in connection with the offense. The investigation is ongoing.”
