Supreme Court affirms Tinubu’s election, dismisses Atiku, Obi’s appeals

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed the election that produced Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as president of the country in the 2023 general elections.

Delivering judgement on Thursday, the apex court through Justice John Okoro dismissed the appeals challenging the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) that upheld the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for lacking merit.

The appeals were filed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and LP’s Peter Obi who came 2nd and 3rd respectively in the election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
