BREAKING: NAWOJ gets new President

Aisha Ibrahim Bura from the Borno State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has emerged new President of the union.

Bura was elected on Saturday during the union’s 11th triennial delegates conference where she defeated Mrs Ladi Bala.

During the keenly contested election, Wasilan Ladan emerged National Secretary while Lillian Okonkwo was elected National Deputy President and Jamila Abubakar Chinwe has been elected as the National Auditor 

All the new national executives of the NAWOJ have since been sworn-in at Dr. Maryam Babangida Women Centre, Abuja venue of the election.
