Women journalists mourn veteran broadcaster, Aisha Bello

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, has mourned the sudden demise of a veteran broadcaster, Aisha Bello Mustapha who passed away last Sunday.

The news of her demise was made public by her family in a statement saying, “Innalilahi wa inna Alaihin Rajiun. May Allah forgive our Mother Hajiya Aishat Bello Mustapha.”

A statement by the NAWOJ National Secretary, Wasilah Ladan, described the death of Aisha as shocking.

“The news of the death of Hajiya Aisha Bello Mustapha has reached us and we are shocked by it.

“This comes at a time when the wise counsel of veterans in the media profession is being highly sought in moving our noble association forward.

“In her lifetime, Aisha was discharging her responsibilities as a renowned broadcast journalist with commitment and diligence.

“NAWOJ will sorely miss this great journalist,” the union said.

Aisha Bello was a former General Manager of NTA Parliament and a prominent newscaster on NTA Network.

Her career spanned 35 years before she retired from active service in May 2022.
