Nasarawa: Pomp as Eggon holds 2023 cultural festival
…Speaker, Aren Eggon, others harp on peace, unity

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau, has urged Nigerians to preserve their cultural heritage and also use it to promote unity and peace in the country.
The Speaker made the call during 2023 Eggon Carnival titled “Carnival of Unity and Integration” organised by Ame Wo Ba Eggon, a socio-cultural group of Eggon people Nigeria held in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
He also called on the people of the State and Nigerians to promote their culture and tradition for the overall development of the society.
Hon Jatau commended Ame Wo Ba Eggon for organising the carnival towards promoting unity and peace among the Eggons and others.
“I want to appreciate the organisers of this event. I want to thank you so much for organising this event toward bringing our people and others together.
“I am satisfied with the cultural display by different groups here.
“I want to use this medium to call on Eggon nation and others to love each other, embrace unity and peace for the overall development of the state,” he said.
On their part, Hon. Solomon Akwashiki, Hon Larry Ven-Bawa, Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu, Hon David Umbugadu, Nasarawa State PDP 2023 Governorship candidate, represented by his Deputy, Hon. Yahaya Usman Ohinoyi and Alhaji Adamu Maku, Managing Director, AA Ashangwa Oil while appreciating AWBE for promoting peace, also called for unity among various ethnic groups in the State.
They also urged the people of the State to embrace their culture in the interest of peace and development.
Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku (rtd), the Aren Eggon also called on Eggon nation to continue to live in unity and peace with their neighbours for the overall development of the State.
The Aren Eggon while appreciating AWBE for organising the event, assured of his continuous readiness to initiate good policies and programmes that would promote unity and peace in Eggon nation.
Also speaking at the programme, Mr. David Abuluya, President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA) Worldwide and Amb. Isaac Kigbu, President, Eggon Youth Movement (EYM) Worldwide also appreciated Ame Wo Ba Eggon for organising the carnival.
Earlier, Board of Trustee Chairman, Mark Abashi and President Ame Wo Ba Eggon, Mr Isaac Achuku, said that the event was organised in order to promote unity and peace among Eggon people and others.
The 3 days Eggon Carnival witnessed groups showcasing different traditional dances as Mr and Miss Eggon too was crowned at the galla night.
