Katsina doles out N5 million to banditry victims in Jibia

The Katsina State government has disbursed a total of N5 million to 30 families of those killed by bandits  including others injured from the recent attacks in some communities of Jibia Local Government Area.

The villages are Yan Gayya, Kadobe, Daddara and Dan Marke.

The disbursement exercise which was held at  the local government secretariat attracted families of those killed by the bandits and others wounded.

In an address, on behalf Governor Dikko Umar Radda, the Senior Special Assistant on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons, Alhaji Ibrahim  Kogunan Jibia, said each of the families of those killed would receive N200,000 while others injured would be given n100,000 each.

He reaffirmed the government’s  commitment in supporting the families  left behind by the victims of the bandits alongside with others wounded from the attacks.

He said the government was taking full responsibility for the medication of the injured victims at various health institutions across the country.

According to him, the money was not in any way intended to compensate the families but to support them in reducing their economic hardship.

He lamented the inhuman attacks by bandits, noting that the Radda’s administration will not take it lightly with both the bandits and informants working for them.
