Nasarawa First Lady turns trader, buys foodstuffs, resells at subsidized prices

In her effort to cushion the effects of hike in food items, the Nasarawa State First Lady, Hajiiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule subsidised the prices of food items especially rice, from N1500 to N500.
The Governor’s wife was in Wamba Local Government Area of the State on a visit to hospitals and decided to storm the market.

According to report made available to Faith Maji’s Blog indicates that “Her Excellency, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, was at the Wamba main market where she subsidized the prices of foodstuffs in an effort to reduce the hardship faced by the people as a result of the hike in prices of food items.

“During the exercise, she bought measure of rice at N1500 each and resold them at N500 to customers who were lucky to be present.
“A measure of beans went for N400, maize N250, Soya beans N250 and Guinea corn was sold at N400.”

Earlier, Silifat visited patients at the Wamba General Hospital where she distributed cash to the patients.

Hajiya Silifat Sule was also at the palace of the Oriye Rindre, Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo, to seek his royal blessing and reiterated her resolve to always support and enhance the living condition of the people.

She is expected at Akwanga Local Government Area later in the day for the same purpose.
