AYD Doma begin Nasarawa Federation Cup with 3:2 win against Keffi Warriors
AYD Doma Football Club (FC) on Wednesday defeated Keffi Warriors Football Club 3:2 in opening ceremony of 2024 Nasarawa State Federation Cup.
Afole Joseph of AYD Doma FC smashed the net of Keffi Warriors FC in the 5th minute into the game to open scoring for the Doma based team at the Lafia Township Stadium in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Jamiu Abdulraqib of Keffi Warriors FC scored an equalising goal in the 37th minute of the game to bring the the first 45 minutes to 1:1
A goal from Isiyaku Saidu of AYD Doma in the 67th minute had given an edge to his team, but Adamu Suleiman of Keffi Warriors scored another equalising goal in a penalty awarded in the 71st minute.
However, an 80th minute strike by Thomas Nuhu had sealed up the victory for AYD Doma FC as the team zoom into the Semi Finals of the competition.
In a post-match interview, Salisu Galadima, Nasarawa State FA Chairman said he was impressed with the performance of the two teams an the officials at the first game.
He assured that the teams would receive cash donation from the FA at the end of the competition.
Also, Abdullahi Yakubu-Doma, Chairman of AYD Doma lauded his team for their performance at the game and expressed optimism that his boys would be the winners of 2024 Federation Cup in the State.
