The Katsina State government has further extended the Eid-el-Fitr holidays to Friday, April 12 as work-free day.

The Federal Government had earlier proclaimed three days of public holidays which began on Tuesday and ended on Thursday, April 11, 2024, for celebration of activities marking the end of the 30 days long Muslim Ramadan fasting.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Bala Salisu Zango on Tuesday explained that the decision to declare Friday work-free day followed “the good gesture of the Federal Government for extending Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday 11th of this month.”

According to him “Governor Dikko Radda’s government has also taken this step to enable workers in the State fully enjoy the Eid-el- Fitr Sallah celebration with their families.”

Similarly, in a separate statement signed by Governor Radda and issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Katsina, preached the message of unity and harmonious living among people of the State.

The Governor said that, “on the joyous occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr festivity, I warmly greet the entire Muslims and people of Katsina State.

“In the aftermath of the 2024 Ramadan fasting, let us not forget the invaluable lessons of self-discipline, compassion and spirituality that the last one month taught us.

“As we bid farewell to Ramadan, let us carry forward its teachings of empathy, generosity, and kindness into our daily lives.

“Let us strive to be better individuals, fostering unity and harmony within our communities.

“I urge you all, the good people of Katsina, to keep supporting our administration in its bid to change the narrative of our dear State.

“Indeed, your unwavering support is crucial in our journey to achieving progress and prosperity for our beloved Katsina.

“Together, let us work hand in hand to address the challenges facing our state and build a brighter future for generations to come.

“Without any equivocation, I remain steadfast in my commitment to fulfilling my entire campaign promises and steering Katsina State towards the promised land of accelerated socio-economic growth.

“Finally, let us all reiterate our pledge to contribute positively to the growth and development of our beloved state, as we celebrate this Eid”, according to Governor Dikko Umar Radda.
