Nasarawa: Toto LG Chair, others preach peace, love at Sallah

The Chairman, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, Alhaji Aliyu Tashas, has called on Nigerians to embrace and love one another.
Tashas made the remarks in his Eid-el-Fitr message in Toto on Wednesday.
The LG, Boss who appreciated God for the privilege to commence and complete the Ramadan fasting successfully admonished Muslim and other Nigerians to embrace peace and love one another irrespective of their etno-religious differences.
“My Sallah message is for us to embrace peace and love one another because nobody is an island. We need to love one another.
“We need one another for us to progress. So, in that regard, peace is the key to development.
“In a society of rancour, there will be no development. Shedding blood of innocent people will do us no good.
“I am appealing to all of us to tolerate one another and live in peace and harmony,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Labaran Magaji, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney- General of the state also called for a collaborative effort in ensuring the sustenance of peace in Toto and the country at large.
Magaji thanked Governor Abdullahi Sule for his efforts in protecting lives and property in the state and called on the people to make peace their watchword.
“We should avoid a situation where we take laws into our hands. The government is doing well in ensuring that the security agencies are on hand to take care of any insecurity challenges,” he said
Also, Alhaji Auwalu Dantasidi, National President, National Artisanal ad Small Scale Mining Cooperative Society (NASSMCS) also called on Muslims to imbibe lessons learnt during the Ramadan period.
“Lessons of love, peace and generosity to the poor must not be taken lightly. I also call on all muslims to see every nigerian irrespective of their political or religious beliefs as their brothers and sisters,” he said.
