Police arrest 3 suspects for robbery in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers and motorcycle snatchers.
A statement by the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq said the suspects were arrested at various locations in Katsina though indigents of neighbouring Kano State.
According to ASP Sadiq in collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, “on May 1st, 2024, at about 0630 hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Sabi’u Musa, age 45, in connection with a suspected case of armed robbery and car snatching.
“Following the receipt of a report on the snatching of a Lexus saloon motor vehicle, Ash in colour, with registration number LND 215 GD, at gunpoint in the neighbouring Kano State, swiftly detectives attached to the command swung into action where the said vehicle was tracked down to Katsina-Jiba road.
“In collaboration with men of the Nigeria Custom Service on duty along the route, the suspect (Sabi’u Musa) was arrested in possession of the suspected stolen motor vehicle.
“In the course of investigations, the suspect confessed to being en route to Maradi in the Niger Republic, where he intends to dispose of the said motor vehicle.
“Similarly, on April 27, 2024, at about 0830 hrs, information was received at the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) that one Vibe saloon motor vehicle, white in colour, with registration number DKA 71 PX, was stolen from Kano State.
“Quickly, detectives swung into action and succeeded in tracing the motor vehicle to Liyafa roundabout, Katsina, where the duo of Abdulaziz Ibrahim, m, age 29 years old, and Haruna Sani, m, age 47 years old, all of Kano State, were arrested in possession of the suspected stolen motor vehicle.
“During interrogation suspects confessed to have deceitfully obtained the motor vehicle from the owner and was on their way to dispose same here in Katsina when they were arrested. The investigation is currently ongoing”.
