Katsina Massacre: We’ll overcome forces of darkness, says Gov Radda

By Faith Awa Maji, Katsina

The Katsina State Governor, Umaru Dikko Radda, said on Tuesday that his administration remains fully committed to eliminating banditry and all forms of criminality within Katsina State.

“The state government is actively collaborating with the Federal Government and all relevant security agencies to implement a comprehensive security strategy to put an end to this problem,” the Governor said on his official X handle, while reacting to last Sunday’s gruesome killing of 26 persons in Kankara Local Government Area of the state by bandits.

The Katsina State police command on Monday evening confirmed the incident, noting that four of its men were also murdered along with two officers from the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) and 20 residents from two communities in Kankara Local Government Area.

According to the Governor, “this is a time for unity and resolution. We call on all Katsina residents to remain calm and cooperate with our security forces.

“Together, we will overcome these forces of darkness and create a safer future for our state.

“I join the entire state in praying for the souls of those who passed away in the recent Gidan Boka attack in Kankara Local Government Area, and for comfort for the grieving families during this challenging time.

“Our administration remains fully committed to eliminating banditry and all forms of criminality within Katsina State.”
