Eid-el-Kabir: Pray for Tinubu, other leaders -Governor Sule
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on the Muslims to use the special occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir to pray for God to guide President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the 36 state governors, members of national and state assemblies, local government chairmen and councilors, in order for them to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
Sule made the call in a chat with the media shortly after observing the Eid prayer in Gudi, his country home on Sunday.
The Governor equally called on Muslims to pray for the security agencies, traditional and community leaders towards ensuring lasting security in the state and the nation at large.
“This is a period for us as a people to get together with one another, to forgive one another, and to be able to pray for our leaders. From President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, down to the 36 governors, down to all our national and state legislators, both the local government chairmen of the 774 councils and our councillors. Indeed, our security agencies, our traditional and community leaders. Pray for them so that God Almighty will give them the wisdom as He has given to Prophet Abraham in order to lead his people,” he said.
While praying for continued peaceful coexistence in Nasarawa State, he called on the people to cooperate with the leaders and security agencies for the sustainance of peace, and unity irrespective of regions or ethnic inclinations.
“I also pray that here in Nasarawa State, we will continue to live in peace, and we will continue to work together as a people, we will do everything possible to cooperate with our leaders and security agencies for the peaceful coexistence of the good people of the state irrespective of our religious or ethnic bias,” he stated.
Sule congratulated the people of the state, as well as the entire Muslim Ummah for marking the Eid-el-Kabir, stressing that the festival signifies the period of sacrifice, togetherness, and total submission to the will of God.
