FMBlog Personality Profile: My life journey so far – Orphaned at an early age, 25 years old Gloria tells the story of her struggle to acquire knowledge culminating at the Nasarawa State University with Psychology degree in 2023.
I am Abimiku Gloria Asheahe. I was born on June 25,1999, into the family of late Mr. & Mrs Abimiku Haruna Allu. I am the last born of four surviving children of my family.
I hail from Lambaga village, Nasarawa Eggon. I had my primary education between 2002 and 2007 after which I proceeded to Eggon Community Secondary School Nassarawa Eggon, in 2007. But due to financial challenges, I moved to Government Secondary School Galle in 2010 where I eventually obtained my WAEC and NECO certificates in 2013.
Due to my thirst to further my education, I struggled to gain admission into the School of Health Technology Keffi, where I studied Nutrition and Dietetics between 2014 and 2016.
After my graduation from there, I ventured into paint production as part of efforts at being self-reliant. I later expanded the business by producing Plaster of Paris (POP), screeding and painting.
Still in search of further education, I got direct entry admission at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Nasarawa State University Keffi in 2018, graduating in 2023 with a Degree in Psychology. I currently serve at the National Assembly under the mandatory NYSC scheme.
I have gone this far, propelled by the desire to break the barrier of poverty and gain financial independence and aspire to continue to scale the hurdles of life.
Having lost my parents at an early age and with little or no financial assistance, I remain committed to taking further steps to achieving my desires, emboldened by the adage that extols dignity in labour. With my paint production, POP, painting and screeding as well as decorative painting, it is my fervent prayer that God continues to be on my side towards attaining greater heights.
