The member representing Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency of Nasarawa State at the National Assembly, Amb. Jeremiah Umaru, has launched a free medical outreach programme in his constituency in Nasarawa state.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 3-day free medical outreach on Thursday in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, Umaru explained that the programme was aimed at ensuring that his constituents were healthy in order for them to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy because their health matters in the journey of posterity.

The lawmaker who was represented by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Abisabo Umaru, explained that the programme was aimed at ensuring a wealthy constituency for health is wealth.

Elder Joseph Usman, who spoke for other beneficiaries of the programme expressed gratitude to the lawmaker and prayed for God’s guidance and protection in his future endeavours.

Selected medical personnel from the constituency and representatives of the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, were on the ground to ensure that all medical rules concerning outreaches were observed and constituents were given first class treatment.

The free medical services include various medical examinations such as blood pressure, eyes, tooth, blood, sugar level, diabetes, malaria and minor surgery among others, as well as provision of drugs and medicated eye glasses to all those who need them.
