Katsina NAWOJ congratulates NUJ newly elected executives

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists Katsina Chapter has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi.
FMBlog learnt that Alhassan emerged winner at the just concluded Nigerian Union of Journalists 8th Triennial National Conference at Rock View Hotel, Owerri, Imo State on 27th November, 2024.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Katsina State NAWOJ Chairperson, Hannatu Mohammed and issued to newsmen on Thursday in Katsina.
According to the Chairperson of NAWOJ Katsina, the association expressed excitement and pride in Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi’s well-deserved victory.
She commended his dedication to the field of journalism and his unwavering commitment to the rights and welfare of journalists nationwide.
“We are thrilled to see Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi elected as the new President of NUJ.
“His leadership and vision will undoubtedly bring positive change and progress to the journalism community. We look forward to working together with him to advocate for the rights and interests of journalists, especially women in the industry.
“NAWOJ Katsina is confident that under your leadership, NUJ will continue to thrive and serve as a strong voice for journalists across Nigeria”.
Also NAWOJ Katsina congratulated Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde on her well-deserved election as the Deputy National President of NUJ.
“Your dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and we at Katsina NAWOJ are incredibly proud of your accomplishment. This is a significant moment for not only you, but for all female journalists as well. We celebrate your victory and wish you the very best in this new role. May you continue to inspire and empower others with your leadership and passion for journalism”, Hannatu said.
She further called on all and sundry to rally round the new executives of the mother union, NUJ for development to thrive.
Alhassan, from Home State Television before now was the Deputy National Persistent of NUJ got an overwhelming votes 436 as against his closest opponent, 436Dele Atunbi of NTA who scored 97 votes and Garba Muhammed who got 39 votes in the keenly contested presidential election of the Union.
