Protect women’s civil rights, Kano Emir charges NAWOJ

Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi ll says, women journalists have a vital role to play in matters concerning the protection of the civic rights of women and children in the society.
Emir Sanusi II spoke when he played host to a delegation from the Kano chapter of the Nigeria Association (NAWOJ).
The delegation led by the NAWOJ National Secretary, Comrade Wasila Ladan, was at the palace to solicit the support of the emirate in promoting activities of the association.
He noted that he was aware of the activities of the association towards mobilising women in various fields of development.
The Emir urged the union to sustain its activities while urging NAWOJ to continue to strictly adhere with the ethics of the profession to enable the association, Kano State, and the whole country to succeed.
Earlier, the NAWOJ scribe explained that they were at the palace to pay homage and to intimate the emirate on the activities of NAWOJ, geared towards the protection of women and children’s rights.
The delegation also congratulated the Emir on his reinstatement and prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to give him more wisdom and courage to keep steering the affairs of the emirate, for the development of the State.
