The Eggon socio-cultural group and the organiser of yearly Eggon Carnival, Ame Wo Ba Eggon, Lafia Zone, Nasarawa State has on Thursday hosted its Muslim members on Ramadan Iftar.
Ame Wo Ba Eggon Lafia Zone Chairperson, Pauline David Enjugu said the breaking of Ramadan fast with Eggon Muslim brothers and sisters became the group’s sole mandate for love for one another.

“In the spirit of Love, Unity, compassion and togetherness during this Holy month of Ramadan, the Eggon Christian brothers and sisters on Thursday 27th March, 2025 break Ramadan fast with AWBE Muslim brothers and sisters cut across the Lafia Zone”, according to a statement by the group Public Relations Officer 2, Atakpo Haladu Danlami as obtained by FMBlog through its social media handle on Friday.
FMBlog learnt that the Iftar held at Lema Event Sports Center Ombi 1, Lafia the State capital brought together some dignities including the three past AWBE President Mr. Titus Ashiki Haruna, Mr. Samson Dugga and Mr. Anzaku Usman.

Meanwhile, speaking to FMBlog through telephone conversations, the pioneer President and member of the Board of Trustee of AWBE, Mr. Titus Ashiki Haruna who was among the attendees of the Iftar, commended the AWBE Lafia Zone executives for the initiative of celebrating with Muslim faithful in the most significant month of Ramadan irrespective of religious differences.

According to him, “If anyone wants to honour a Muslim faithful, he should recognise, identify with the person in the Holy month of Ramadan which is so significant in the life of every Muslim. For AWBE Lafia Zone executives to choose this period to identify with its Muslim members, will go a long way portraying the bond Eggon sons and daughters shared in the time memorial and I applaud it and call on every Eggon person to emulate the gesture wherever they are.
“I call on you, our Muslim brethren, to participate in all Eggon cultural activities. This is because, over the years, you are left behind when it comes to the issue of participating in the Eggon cultural activities. I encourage you to participate in all Eggon activities as brothers and sisters.
“I want to caution our Christian brothers and sisters to desist from tagging our Muslim brethren to Hausa. This is ignorant and is not a good omen hence the discrimination should stop.
“I appreciate the presence of the third Imam of the Isa Mustapha Polytechnic Lafia, Imam Abdullahi Aganiyi for honouring the invitation. We are looking for more Eggon people occupying the strategic positions of Imams across Nasarawa and Nigeria at large because they possess all the Qur’anic knowledge.
“I want to also charge AWBE Lafia Zone to live up to the expectation, having produced three former National Presidents.
“AWBE incubated in Lafia, that is the reason why it produced the three leaders hence you should sustain the significant role as the backbone of AWBE.
On their various remarks, second and third national Presidents of AWBE, Mr. Samson Dugga and Mr. Anzaku Usman prayed for unity and development of the Eggon nation.
The Eggon Muslim faithful used the medium to thank Lafia Zone for Ramadan Iftar together as the third Chief Imam of Ombi 1 Central Mosque, Mallam Abdullahi Aganiyi prayed to Almighty Allah on the month of Ramadan to continue to guide, protect and to give wisdom and peace to every Eggon sons and daughters to pilot the affairs of Eggon nation for development to thrive.
