Defence Minister, Kebbi Gov collaborate to strengthen security

Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar held a high-level security meeting with the Governor of Kebbi State, Nasiru Idris, on Friday at Government House, Birnin Kebbi aimed at tackling insecurity in the area.
The engagement, which took place during the Minister’s operational visit to Kebbi State, brought together key members of the Governor’s security team and other key stakeholders.
A statement by the Personal Assistant Media and Publicity to the Minister, Mati Ali made available to FMBlog on Friday noted that the meeting marked a significant step toward enhancing intergovernmental collaboration to tackle insecurity in the State and its surrounding regions.
According to the statement, “The session focused on fostering stronger synergy, mutual support and improved understanding between federal and state authorities in the collective fight against banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats affecting the state and its environs.
“Both leaders emphasised the urgent need for sustained cooperation, public support and better understanding to defeat the insecurity.
“In his remarks, the Minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting state-level efforts through strategic partnerships and the deployment of resources where necessary.

“He lauded the efforts of the Kebbi State Government in responding to local security challenges and pledged continued federal backing to reinforce those initiatives.
“Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris, appreciated the Minister’s visit and reiterated his administration’s readiness to work closely with all relevant stakeholders in addressing security concerns.
“He praised the commitment of security agencies operating in Kebbi and stressed the importance of collaborative governance in achieving lasting peace”, the statement.
