PHOTONEWS: NSCDC Commandant General condoles Gov Radda over Buhari’s demise

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi led a high-level delegation to Katsina to commiserate with Governor Dikko Umaru Radda over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Governor Radda received the delegation at the Government House, where Dr. Audi conveyed his deepest condolences to the government and people of Katsina State.

Speaking on behalf of the NSCDC leadership, Dr. Audi described the late President as “a statesman of unmatched dignity and unwavering patriotism, whose legacy will continue to shape Nigeria’s moral and institutional compass.”

“President Muhammadu Buhari was not just a national figure; he was a guardian of discipline and values we hold dear in our corps integrity, accountability, and loyalty to country.

We are here to stand in solidarity with the people of Katsina and to honour a man who lived for service and sacrifice,” the Commandant General said.

He further noted that Buhari impact was deeply felt in the area of internal security, where his firm stance on national discipline inspired reforms across paramilitary agencies, including the NSCDC. “His belief in structured security systems helped elevate institutions like ours. We owe part of our institutional strength to his leadership,” he added.

In a brief but emotional prayer session, Assistant Commandant General Abdullahi Aliyu Dutsinma also offered supplications, expressing how deeply the late President’s passing had touched the people of Katsina.

“We believe Katsina has lost one of its greatest sons. His sacrifices for Nigeria will never be forgotten. May Allah reward him with paradise and preserve the peace he worked so hard to achieve,” he said.

In his remarks, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda expressed sincere gratitude to the NSCDC Commandant General and his entourage for the visit, describing it as “heartwarming and a symbol of true national unity.”

“President Muhammadu Buhari was our father, our moral compass, and our strongest voice for order and accountability. His death is a national wound, but your presence here today is a balm,” the Governor said.

He appreciated the commitment of the NSCDC to national peace and community safety, noting that the late President would be proud of their evolving role in securing lives and property across Nigeria.

Governor Radda concluded by praying for Dr. Audi and his team, and urged the NSCDC to remain steadfast in their duties. “Continue to uphold the values Baba Buhari cherished discipline, humility, and service to Nigeria,” he said.

The delegation included top-ranking NSCDC officials and senior aides to the Commandant General.
