The State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Yakubu Kwanta made the call on Friday in Lafia at a farewell ceremony as the team proceeded to Abuja for preseason, preparatory to the commencement of the season.

He said the government would provide the needed support in terms of welfare and logistics to the players and the technical crew to ensure that they are not lacking.

Kwanta explained that the approval for the signing of the 15 new players by the club was part of the boost to fortify the team ahead of the season.

The commissioner further said that the allowances of the players and technical crew would be reviewed upward and paid promptly so they could focus on their target.

“As the season starts, if there are any issues that will affect the club, you must find a way of talking to us for a prompt response,” Kwanta added.

Also speaking, Chairman, Nasarawa Utd FC, Solomon Babanja appreciated the state government for the continued support just as he promised that the team would play every game as it is. “The team is now better than it was last season.

Responding on behalf of the players, Captain of the team, King Osanga, appreciated the government for the support and encouragement and promised not to disappoint the state.
