Kidnappers have kidnapped the Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Services to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Muhammed Egye Osolafia
The Senior special Adviser to Governor Sule on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba confirmed the development to journalists on Sunday in Lafia.
He described the development as sad and unfortunate, noting that he received the news of the abduction from another colleague.
Osolafia was picked by his abductors who traced him to his residence at Tudun Amba on Saturday night when he was about to enter his house.
The assailants reportedly arrived in the area shooting sporadically into the air before heading straight for their target.
Kidnapping is constantly on the increase in and outside the state capital despite several arrests by the police and other security in recent times.
Governor Abdullahi Sule recently lamented and cautioned top government functionaries who use their position to bail suspects in custody of security agents.
The influx of persons from bandits ravaged states into Nasarawa unchecked is partly responsible for the growing incidents of kidnapping in the state according to security experts.
Others believe that the recent military offensive currently ongoing in Benue State to flush out terrorists has pushed them to Nasarawa state, hence the growing kidnapping and banditry in Nasarawa.
So many businesses are suffering a setback as residents are forced to go to bed as early as 8:00pm for fear of kidnap in so many communities across the state.
