Committee commends Nasarawa Gov for releasing ₦300m for retirees’ gratuities

…₦150m for State ₦150m for LGAs as committee holds quarterly meeting in Lafia

The Nasarawa State Committee on Gratuity Disbursement has commended the State Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of retirees.

The commendation followed Gov Sule’s approval and prompt release of ₦300 million Naira for onward payment of gratuities to both the State and local government retirees.

The committee made this known during its quarterly meeting held in Lafia the State capital on Wednesday under the policy guidance of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, who oversees the state’s gratuity implementation framework.

The meeting was chaired by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, who is also the Co-Chairman of the Committee.

Danladi, speaking during the meeting, praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for his steadfast commitment and fulfillment of promises to retirees, describing the approval and release of gratuity funds as timely and compassionate.

According to him, “Governor Abdullahi Sule deserves commendation for his prompt action in releasing gratuity funds and keeping to his word. His leadership style reflects compassion, accountability, and genuine concern for the welfare of retirees,” Barr. Danladi stated.

He explained that the ₦300 million Naira released comprises ₦150 million for state retirees and ₦150 million for local government retirees, adding that the committee’s work has remained effective due to the supportive oversight of the Deputy Governor and the Governor’s approval.

The committee expressed appreciation to Governor Sule for prioritising retirees’ welfare and for progressively clearing outstanding gratuity arrears.

Attendees included the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice; Mr. Emmanuel Michael, Committee Secretary; Alhaji Hudu Baba Abdullahi, NUP Chairman; Alhaji I. D. A. Usman, NUP Secretary; and Chief Patrick A. Ogah, Chairman, Concerned Group.
