Katsina women journalists hail new  NAWOJ National leader

The Katsina State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has congratulated the newly elected National Chairperson of the union, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim Bura, and her national executives for emerging victorious at the just concluded 11th triennial delegates’ conference held in Abuja.

In a congratulatory message to new national leaders of the union, the State Chairperson of the association, Hajiiya Hannatu Mohammed, prayed Allah’s guidance to keep and lead them to a successful tenure.

According to her, “with you as National Chairperson and Wasila Ladan as the National Secretary, there is no doubt our association will have new and fresh breathe again based on your wealth of experience as seasoned journalists and women’s shield.

“And to our immediate past executives of NAWOJ under the leadership of Mrs Lady Bala, congratulations for the successful tenure and thank you for being our leader for the past three years.

“You’re truly one of the best leaders of our union even as we encourage you to join hands with the new President and your sister, Aisha, to build NAWOJ we all desire.

A statement by the State NAWOJ Secretary, Faith Awa Maji, also quoted the Chairperson as saying, “thank you great NAWOJians of the 21st century. Katsina State chapter cares and loves you all.

“Sisterhood together for peace.”

Aisha Ibrahim Bura is from the Borno State chapter of NAWOJ and she defeated Mrs Ladi Bala during the keenly contested election.

Wasilan Ladan emerged National Secretary while Lillian Okonkwo was elected National Deputy President.
